Building Strong Partnerships Through Communication

Jun 23, 2026 | aliciamarcano | News

For most families, communication is one of the first things they consider when choosing an Early Learning Centre. In fact, studies show that more than 83% of families rate communication as one of the most important factors influencing their decision. While educational programs, activities, and learning opportunities are important, parents also want peace of mind knowing that their child is safe, happy, and well cared for throughout the day.

Strong communication helps build trust, creates meaningful partnerships, and ensures families feel connected to their child’s learning and wellbeing.

We recognise that parents and families are a child’s first and most important teachers. That is why we work closely with families to ensure that every child’s voice is heard, valued, and supported throughout their learning journey.

Staying Connected Every Day

We use a variety of communication methods to keep families informed, involved, and connected to their child’s experiences at the centre. Through platforms such as Storypark and Xplor, families can stay up to date with their child’s learning, development, and daily experiences. These tools provide opportunities for educators and families to share information, celebrate milestones, and work together to support each child’s growth.

Open communication is at the heart of everything we do. We encourage families to speak with educators, ask questions, share concerns, and celebrate achievements. Whether it is a quick conversation at drop-off or pick-up, a phone call, or an email, we value the insights families provide and recognise the important role they play in helping us understand each child’s unique needs.

Throughout the year, we also offer opportunities for families to connect with educators through special events, celebrations, and parent-teacher interviews. These occasions provide valuable opportunities to discuss children’s progress, share goals, and strengthen the partnership between home and the learning environment.

Supporting Our Youngest Learners

For our youngest children and those who are still developing their language skills, strong communication with families is essential. Educators regularly check in with parents and caregivers about their child’s wellbeing, routines, sleep, feeds and any changes at home. This information helps us provide responsive, individualised care and support each child to feel safe, comfortable and settled throughout the day.

By working together, sharing information, and maintaining open lines of communication, we create a strong partnership that supports children to thrive. We value every family’s contribution and are committed to building trusting relationships that place children at the centre of everything we do.

Choosing childcare is a big decision, and we’re here to help make the process easier. If you would like to see how we build strong relationships with children and families, we would love to welcome you for a tour of our centre.
