What makes The Y different

  • Developing social and problem-solving skills

Children build confidence, independence and social skills through play, hands-on learning and meaningful experiences. Our engaging indoor and outdoor environments encourage exploration, with open-ended activities, natural play spaces and a veggie garden that inspires curiosity, sustainability and connection with others.

  • Creating open and trusted communication

We value strong partnerships with families, because when families and educators work together, children thrive. Through Storypark (our family portal), regular educator conversations, newsletters, and centre updates, we keep you informed and connected, ensuring every family feels valued and truly part of their child's journey with us.

  • Preparing children for Primary School

We help children take their best step into school through School ReadY, our specialised literacy program, that builds early language skills. Plus partnerships with local primary schools and a range of community programs, we provide a holistic, wrap-around approach that ensures children, and their families, feel confident, connected, and ready for the journey ahead.

3 year old Kindergarten

Our 3–4-year-old kindergarten program is delivered across two welcoming learning rooms, each accommodating up to 22 children with an educator-to-child ratio of 1:11. Through play-based learning, children build confidence, independence and the skills needed for their kindergarten journey.

4 year old Kindergarten

Our 4–5-year-old kindergarten program is offered across two spacious learning rooms, each with a capacity of 33 children and an educator-to-child ratio of 1:11. The program supports school readiness through engaging, play-based experiences that foster curiosity, resilience and a love of learning.

Indoor Learning Spaces

Having so much space in this new facility helps us create different play and learning areas. Each room has a range of recycled, natural and other materials. Large windows provide plenty of natural light, creating a calm environment for children. We also have quiet places which allow children to reflect and have time to themselves.

Cooking Skills

Families provide snacks and lunches. However, cooking is an important part of our curriculum. Children can participate in making cakes to celebrate their peers’ birthdays. We also use vegetables grown in our garden in cooking with the children and celebrations with families and our community.

School Readiness

Our School Readiness Program supports children in their 4-year-old kindergarten year to feel confident and prepared for their transition to school. Through engaging, play-based learning, children build important skills in communication, early literacy and numeracy, independence, problem-solving, social connections and emotional wellbeing.

EYES Program

Our Early Years Engagement Support (EYES) Program provides additional support for children who may benefit from extra guidance with their learning, development and wellbeing. Working alongside families and educators, our EYES team helps identify individual needs, provides practical strategies and connects families with relevant services to support each child to thrive.
